Historic Doors employs time-honored techniques in the construction of
every door and entryway. Solid
Wood Construction
We recommend species appropriate to each application, and work
with suppliers of fine wood from around the country and the world.
Located in rural
Pennsylvania, we have ready access to the best American hardwoods.
Our doors are typically 1 3/4" or 2 1/4" thick, however,
they are not limited to these sizes. True
Mortise and Tenon Joinery
Adhering closely to historic techniques, we will only use mortise
and tenon joinery for the structure of our doors. This has long
been considered
a superior construction method, even in modern times. Radius Woodwork
With access to hundreds of catalogued drawings and historical resources,
our craftsmen are experienced at bending and shaping wood for
fanlights and curved paneling as well as all types of mouldings and
related
entryway items. Glazing
Services
Our glazing services include high-quality beveled glass, custom-designed
leaded glass and true divided light insulating glass. Restoration
glass is also available.
